While we were all watching the "fumble in the rain", Bowl the Bay ship and Yacht guys made our old Fleet Boat look just like a Nuke! They painted her all black with the base coat on both the top of the hull above the water line and also the superstructure. I think she looks pretty "kwel" all black, but as you will see in the later pics she will get her traditional gray sides. It is interesting that the gray is being rolled on where all the other coats were sprayed on.

Lots of other work is proceeding but most of it is not too pretty, like opening and cleaning the NFO tanks ... Normal Fuel Oil to all you nuke sailors, adding some 40 plus zincs to the hull, and replacing wasted metal down in the superstructure. It's going to be touch and go to get her in the water by Thursday morning. I'll let you know the schedule just as soon as I know, but were all getting anxious to get the job done.

P.S. There is a plan afoot to rearrange the visitor lifeline stanchions when we get back to Pier 45. Are there any qualified welders out there that would want to donate some time to the project? This is still in the planning stages but I was asked to see if we would get any response. Email me if your interested.
